about
I don't have the energy to try to make a big deal out of anything, but I'm very happy, and honored to have been able to curate this song. I made this beat a long time ago, and I'm happy it's finally out in the world. I've been playing this instrumental in my beat sets for years. It was originally intended for a super group project that never came to fruition. This was one of the last beats I made before we moved back to FLG from ABQ; 2017-ish I think.
Simon Sed has the first verse, sets it off proper, and originally laid down the chorus. We met in the Fake Four group here on Facebook, and I've grown to become a fan ever since of both the man, and the hustle.
Ersatz Splynter raps like crazy on the 2nd verse. Syllables upon syllables. My introduction to their music was their 2018 Fake Four Release "Apartment Number One". It still surprises me that I'm able to work with folks from my favorite indie label. It's funny, because Martin plays Saxophone, but I used a sample for this one haha
Bloodmoney Perez was the last addition, and I asked him to write his version of the original chorus to give it that final push. Out of these three people, Bloodmoney is the only person I've actually met, and that whole week / trip is very near, and dear to my heart. I'm thankful he let us hop on his album release show, and I'm thankful he hopped on this song. His deep, smooth voice is like butter on top of that saxophone sample.
As always, I'm thankful Mr Begay is able to polish my turd beat stems, and make them sound proper around everyone's voice.
Prosodic gave me his permission to let me use him as my model ❤
There's no bigger project, charity, of anything particular that this is meant for. It's just a song for the sake of a song. I hope everyone likes it.

Album of the year. In a fair and just world, they would be headlining festivals with this one. Big hooks. Vivid verses. Fingers-crossed, the instrumentals will get the vinyl treatment. Goodwill Hunter
